I Just Need to Vent

I’m overdue for a blog post...my self-induced goal is to post a new one every Thursday, but I think I am two weeks behind. I have earnestly been trying to slow down and prioritize my to do lists, I’ve been working hard at saying no, so I don’t get so overwhelmed, and I HAVE been spending more time with my family, and for that I am extremely grateful; but, because there is always a but, I am still crazy busy. This time of year always seems to fill up faster for me than any other time of year, and it isn’t because of Christmas coming, which we will not even go there today, because I cannot even think about Christmas yet; but, ugh there is that nasty little three letter word again, but I am busy every single weekend and at least four weekdays right up until the second weekend in November. Momma needs a time out. So here is my random thought list for the day...today...Thursday, and if I don’t watch it, this thought train could ride me all the way to the land of crazy town.

  1. Don’t forget you have Good News Club today.
  2. Don’t forget to take Andrew shopping for his homecoming attire after GNC...remember don’t force the suit….We have to find something today...HC game tomorrow...then HC Saturday...ugh...I mean yay?!?
  3. Don’t forget to send Maggie’s birthday party invitations to school with her before Friday..oh wait it’s Thursday, have we bought those yet?
  4. Church yard sale was canceled, update website, facebook, tell tech guy at church to update slides, and order Maggie’s cake (they were scheduled for the same day)
  5. Finalize ceremony for wedding Saturday, check email, vows are being sent…love this couple...they are so cute
  6. Take some time out to work on your book...yeah right...but felt like it should be on the list
  7. Buy a lasagna for Papa’s birthday dinner Sunday...mom said I didn’t have to make it...she’s making hers...should I make mine, when do I have time??? Ugh...who can I pay to make a lasagna???
  8. Make grocery list...cause if Matthew does hit, all we have is peanut butter and crackers...oy vey…and drop off Women’s Conference flyers while you’re out...
  9. Last message from mother-in-law (who is in the Bahamas) was to please tie down her pool furniture in case Matthew hits...I think Tom’s got this one
  10. And last but not least, well for some...take a shower today Amy!

Okay, so this may not be that overwhelming, but it is time consuming and it doesn’t even begin to cover the daily must do’s with the animals, my grandma, bible study, prayer time, emails etc...However I must add that I am killing it with my fitbit. I’m hitting my step goal every day and I’ve toned up my calves; they are looking pretty spiffy if I do say so, and my hubby has noticed too, so there’s a bonus...ha-ha! I guess I just needed a vent blog; now I have to dissect this list and see what I really need to do.

I’m not complaining, well maybe a little, but I really do love my life. God gets me through every single minute of every day and I love that I can call on Him and He is so faithful to answer. Sometimes it comes in the way of correction, okay a lot of times it is correction, and sometimes it is just “be still and know that I am God” and sometimes He tells me to slow down. Whatever He tells me, it is always what I need to hear, and when I need to hear it. Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better, sometimes we just have to get it out, ya know what I mean. So in closing my daily rant, let me just encourage you, to trust God with your day, your to do list, whatever things you’ve got going on in your life. He is the way the truth and the life...and you can’t have a productive day without Him!
