Day 29 - Christian Self-Care Affirmations Rooted in Scripture

We are living in a world that constantly pulls at our attention and energy. I know there are many days I feel like there aren’t enough hours or enough “me’s” to get everything done. I am so grateful that I’ve learned Christian self-care isn’t selfish—it’s stewardship. In His Word, God invites us to rest, renew our minds, and care for our bodies and souls. I’ver combined some of the affirmations from the last 28 devotions to provide you with an easy resource to go to when you need to be reminded; it’s okay to rest. These Christian affirmations rooted in Scripture are designed to help you pause, breathe, and remember who you are in Christ.

As you read these, I pray you will allow them to wash over your heart. Read them aloud, journal with them, or pray them back to God. I encourage you to look up the full scripture and dive deeper with the Lord.

1. I am allowed to rest because God invites me to rest.

📖 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

2. Caring for myself honors the body God gave me.

📖 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19

3. My worth is not found in productivity, but in Christ.

📖 “You are God’s masterpiece.” – Ephesians 2:10

4. God renews my strength when I feel depleted.

📖 “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” – Isaiah 40:31

5. I am allowed to set healthy boundaries.

📖 “Let your ‘Yes’ be yes, and your ‘No,’ no.” – Matthew 5:37

6. God’s peace guards my heart and mind today.

📖 “The peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7

7. I release my stress to God, who cares deeply for me.

📖 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

8. I am deeply loved by God, even when I feel worn down.

📖 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us.” – 1 John 3:1

9. God is with me in every quiet moment of rest.

📖 “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

10. Today, I choose gentleness with myself.

📖 “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” – Psalm 103:8
