Day 7 - Saturday Reflection: Resting in God's Presence
Today marks 7 days of (if you’ve been in since day 1) of Self-Care God’s way. I’m so excited that you have joined me this far and I am pumped up about sharing next week's self-care devotions with you.
Today is all about reflection. Do you have a journal? I hope so. If not, I encourage you to get one. It is a therapeutic way of destressing and a great thing to come back to and encourage yourself on how far you have come in the Lord.
Let’s go over what we read this week. And as we revisit each day, write down something that really resonated with you. On the days that you are struggling, it’s always nice to have something positive to circle back to.
Day 1 - We defined biblical self-care.
Day 2 - We covered, is self-care selfish?
Day 3 - We learned how to rest in God.
Day 4 - We learned how resting in God is an act of faith.
Day 5 - We discovered bible verses to read when we feel burned out.
Day 6 - We focused on guilt free self-care.
1. What have you learned this week about biblical self-care?
2. Have you tried self-care the worldly way before? If so, how does biblical self-care and worldly self- care differ for you?
3. What did you do to rest in God this week?
4. How did you put your faith into action when doing your self-care routine this week?
5. What bible verse is your go to when you are feeling overwhelmed by life?
Now that you have answered those questions, how do you feel? Do you have a friend that could benefit from some biblical self-care? If so, I encourage you to share this devotion with them. Our job as Christians is to encourage one another and share the love of Jesus.
I am so excited to share next week’s devotions with you. We will be focusing on mental and emotional self-care. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. I would love to hear from you.
Pray this with me:
Dear God, as I enter into my second week of biblical self-care please continue to remind me that I am not being selfish and that I am being obedient to your word by loving myself. Remind me that as I take better care of me that I will be able to take better care of those around me. Thank you for drawing me closer to you through this process. I love you, Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.
