Day 28 – Reflecting on God’s Faithfulness

Over the last month we have taken a deep dive into the world of Godly Self-Care. I pray it has been a blessing to you. When I first started writing this devotional series all I knew was that God was telling me to do it. I had no idea that God was going to use it to transform my life.

As I reflect on the last month I find myself amazed at how much better I feel. Along with you I have adjusted my schedule to make more room for God. I have added a few fun indulgences into my skin care regimen and I have taken time to truly rest in the Lord’s presence.

As my skin soaks up a good face mask I find I have time to soak in God’s Word. While putting on my makeup for work I can praise Him while listening to worship music. I have learned the gift of being able to say no to things that pull me away from God, people that drain me and I have learned that self-care isn’t selfish.

God is so faithful. When we put Him first everything else truly seems to fall into place. I have had a couple of really bad days this month and what I learned from them was this… I have the power to pause and not react. I have the authority over my life to take a time out (in the moment) to breathe, pray and listen for God’s direction. Remember those breath prayers we learned about in Day 9’s devotion - They really help! Here is the devotional I use in case you missed it. Breath as Prayer

We have a couple of days to go… just 2… But I pray that your self-care journey will not end. I pray that you will continue to grow in the Lord every single day and that you will feel His presence more intimately. God’s faithfulness in scripture shows His unwavering commitment to us through His many promises even on our worst days.

I want to encourage you today to reflect over the last month and journal your testimonies, your accomplishments and how you feel today compared to 28 days ago. I am going to share a surprise with you on Day 30.

Pray with me:

Dear Lord, as I reflect on everything I have learned over the last month, I want to take time to thank you. Thank you for your faithfulness, your love, your mercy and your grace. Thank you for teaching me that self-care is not selfish but it is a way to worship you. This body is your temple and I pray that you will continue to help me serve you by taking care of myself. In Jesus Name, Amen.
