I don’t know anyone that hasn’t had their heart completely shattered at some point in their life. It’s part of living. In order to know true joy we must experience pain. To know peace we must encounter chaos. Without one we wouldn’t be able to fully understand the other. However, it doesn’t make it any easier when we are going through life's biggest storms.
Some seasons seem to last longer than others. Our grief can consume us. Our illness can drain us of any positive thoughts. As you struggle through pain it becomes harder to pray. It is in those moments we can find reprieve in the Bible’s healing scriptures. When the storms of life come they are not meant to overtake us but are there to give us an opportunity to lean on God, grow stronger through His Word, and to teach us; with God all things are possible.
Psalm 41:3
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed
and restores them from their bed of illness.
Psalm 103:2-4
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
1 Peter 2:24
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
Isaiah 43:1-3
43 But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
God never promised we wouldn’t have to endure pain and suffering in this life. He did promise us that it would not overtake us. Jesus showed us this through His death and resurrection.
You are not alone.
You are loved.
There is healing in God’s Word.
What healing do you need from the Lord? Will you receive it from Him today?
Pray with me:
Dear Lord, I struggle with receiving the healing I know Jesus died for me to have. Help me to trust your word and strengthen my faith so that I may walk in the victory your word declares is mine. I am healed. In Jesus Name, Amen.
