Day 23 – Self-Care Through Prayer and Worship

Welcome to day 23 - We have learned so much over the last 22 days. I don’t know about you but I’m already experiencing positive change and it feels great. I hope you will start to incorporate yesterday’s check list into your daily routine. I have a similar printable version if you would like one. Just go to the sign up for emails link at the top of my website and I will send a copy to you.

Over the last few weeks we have learned how important self-care is and worship and prayer are a vital part of spiritual self-care. It’s important that you take time every day to Pray and Worship. How you incorporate this into your daily life is up to you but please make sure you take time to do it.

I think a lot of times we picture Worship as something we do on Sunday mornings while the praise team is leading the congregation in music - And while this is part of it, Worship is so much more. Worship is the act of showing honor and adoration to God through a lifestyle of submission, love, and obedience. It involves aligning one's heart, mind, and actions with God's will. We do this through our prayers, how we serve others, how we show Him thanks and also by getting together with other believers.

Prayer is communication with God. It can be anything from thanking Him, praising Him, making your petitions known to Him or just a personal conversation between the two of you.  I find it easy to talk to God all day. When you begin to realize He is omnipresent (God is simultaneously present in His entire being in every point of space and time, without being limited by either) you begin to understand that prayer doesn’t have to be done at a certain time every day, just when you are alone or at church or in a specific place. You can talk to Him anytime and anywhere. When you incorporate this into your spiritual self-care routine the results are empowering.

How will you Worship God today?

Will you serve a fellow believer?

Will you show love to someone?

Will you be obedient to something God has been telling you to do?

Will you listen to praise music in the car and thank God for His mercy?

What will you and God talk about today?

Will you tell Him what your plans are and ask Him to make them His?

Will you thank Him for all of your blessings?

Will you give your worries to Him?

Will you intercede on behalf of someone else?

Pray with me:

Dear Lord, thank you for another day. Thank you for teaching me how important it is to take care of my mental health, physical health and spiritual health. Help me to incorporate the things I’ve learned into my daily routine and to share them with someone else that needs self-care in their life. Remind me today that you are always with me and I can pray at any time. Help me to worship you in areas of my life that I have been lacking. In Jesus Name, Amen.
