How has your week been? Have you been keeping up with your Self-Care routine? What things have you incorporated into your daily schedule? How are you taking time to put God first everyday? Have you purchased any new items like a devotional, a journal or maybe some new lipstick? My new lip gloss finally came in. (I mentioned it a few posts ago.) I love it! I’m going to share a link to it and some other fun self-care things at the end.
As you close out the week and prepare to start another… It is a great time to pause and spend a little more time with God. As you reflect on the questions above I want you to think about your answers. Do you feel like you are really embracing self-care or are you just going through these devotions like a recipe? It’s great to read different recipes and get new ideas… It can also feel exciting to go to the store and purchase all of the ingredients… but if you don’t actually put them all together and use them to make that delicious dish or dessert… then you have no idea what you are missing out on. You could be missing out on the most delicious dish you’ve ever created.
I don’t want you to miss out on the blessing that comes from taking care of yourself God’s way.
Here is a scripture to meditate on today:
Psalm 23:2-3 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Let’s rest together. Pour yourself a fresh cup of coffee, tea or whatever your favorite relaxing beverage is. Put on that new face mask you haven’t used yet…lol - Put some cucumbers or a chilled eye mask on your eyes, find someplace quiet (even if it’s sitting in your car in your driveway) and repeat this scripture to yourself over and over again. Let it sink in. Speak positive affirmations to yourself. Remember self-care is stewardship.
God loves me.
God created me to rest.
God is restoring me.
God will provide.
God will make a way.
God is refreshing my soul.
Self-Care is stewardship, not selfishness.
God is leading me.
God is healing me.
God loves me.
Pray with me:
Thank you God for getting me through another week. Thank you for the opportunities you sent my way. Thank you for protecting me from things I don’t even know about. Thank you for providing for me. As I start a new week, help me to focus on the positive and give my worries to you. Help me to let go and let you into every area of my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
